Opportunity to learn from Top Tutors
Do you want to take your art to the next level?
Do you want personal tuition and guidance?
If the answer is YES, and you have been a PANZ member for at least a year,
you are eligible to apply for a PANZ scholarship to study with a tutor of your choice.
Applications close: September 30th 2026
Choose from one of the many wonderful pastel tutors in NZ, or one of the many international tutors who teach online.

ANNUAL TUTORSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
- Scholarship Awards: The Scholarship amount of $750 is for tutoring only. It cannot be used for travel, lodging or art materials.
- How to Apply: Complete the online application form & email your request to [email protected] with reasons for wanting the scholarship. Include details of the level you are at with your art (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced); how long you have been painting in Pastel; What tutors you have studied with; your artistic goals and any other statement about yourself or your art that you would like to include.
- Attach 6 digital images of your most recent work- completed within the last 18 months. Each image must be no less then 1MB or use the largest file size setting on your camera.
- Include the Tutor of your choice - Arrangements between scholarship recipients and scholarship tutors constitute a private contract. recipients should check with their tutor of choice to ensure the tutor will be able to meet their needs and goals. This will include asking how many hours the tutor will provide for the $750 awarded. Recipients are not restricted to spending $750 on tuition, and can top up themselves if they so wish. A change of tutor from the one named on the application form may sometimes be necessary. The subsequent tutor needs to be approved by the PANZ committee.
Applications will be juried by a PANZ Committee Panel of 2 Master Pastelists, the President and Vice President.
The Committee will invite two Master Pastelists to be on the sub-Committee for the current year no later than 1 August.
Judging will take place in October and award recipients will be notified by the Committee by 31 October
and reported in the following Newsletter.
- Available to general and APANZ membership
- You must have been a member of PANZ for at least 1 year
- Tutoring must take place within 12 months of the award
- PANZ National Convention workshops are not eligible
- The tutor will contact the treasurer after the workshop is undertaken for payment ( no monies go directly to the Scholarship Recipient).
ANNUAL MENTORSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
- $225 inclusive of GST if any for three hours.
- Available to General, APANZ and DPANZ membership.
- Work critiqued will not be acceptable for submission to most art competitions.
