I have been a member of PANZ for 12 years approximately and was introduced to pastels by Walter and Dorothy Scott while living in Marlborough. I was secretary to the Marlborough Art Society for about three years and through this organisation, I was very fortunate to have attended a Tony Allain workshop which I found very exciting and so inspirational that I can’t wait to do another one if I am lucky enough.
There is so much one can do with this medium, so much to learn and aspire to that I waste a lot of time admiring others' work online rather than getting on with my own. I am partial to and practically have heart palpitations over mixed media using pastel and alcohol wash on my own prepared surfaces currently in an experimental phase.
From home, I am a part-time graphic designer and administrator for our farming business, while also enjoying the freedom to paint our beautiful North Canterbury countryside.
