I am strongly influenced by my Graphic Design background.
I see ordinary things and ideas emerging and developing in my mind, a never ending flow…they are fun-loving imaginings
that eventually find their place on the paper, initially for my own pleasure but increasingly to bring pleasure to others.
My first dogs running were mono-prints, a series created in 1990 called "dog, fog, jog…".
By nature in every sense of the word, dogs are colourful.
Recently fish appeared swimming alongside the dogs. This soon developed into dogs swimming with fish,
the fish became flying fish and before long Spot was flying too!
My signature piece (dog runs in, runs across, runs out…) portrays the energetic, continual ritual of not only dogs but of life.
Dogs are fun and are a positive influence!
This continues to motivate me as I try to capture this zest for life, preserving this exuberance in Pastel, Etching, Painting,
Silver and Bronze.
