​My creative journey began when I stepped into a darkroom at Intermediate school and watched with fascination the images appearing from nowhere onto the paper. Later, when I was encouraged to photograph my children’s basketball games, I experimented with finding the beauty and artistic element in both sports and everyday life, creating impressionistic and abstract photographic images. These images inspired me to experiment with pastels and while under the tutelage of Julie Freeman, I joined PANZ in 2019. My initial intention was to continue with impressionist pieces, however I soon developed a love for hyper-realism as I became more familiar with pastel as a medium. 

My preferred subjects are animals and at the heart of my artwork there is a love for observation, capturing their details that we often overlook.
