It’s not often that we attract an international artist our way - but who wouldn’t come here with the amazing vistas of our harbour! The Mana Pastel Group have invited Gail to come here on the back of her planned trip to deliver programmes in Australia.
Gail’s recent workshops have been in Yorkshire and Tuscany - so how lucky are we to get her here to our beautiful part of the world. In February 2024, Mana Pastel Arts Group are bringing renowned Canadian Master Pastel Artist Gail Sibley to Porirua for an exclusive five-day course where she will teach, explore and paint with you. Gail’s teaching style will help you understand your art journey and to give you the tools to pursue all your own ideas.
Gail established the very popular blog ‘How to Pastel’ ten years ago. Today thousands of artists worldwide benefit from the knowledge and inspiration that Gail shares. Gail is not just an incredible artist and tutor she is a vibrant personality who brings amazing energy into a room.
Born to artistic parents and bought up in Kingston Jamaica she says that environment influenced her pallet and personality. In 2002, Gail was awarded Signature membership of the Pastel Society of America. In 2018 she received her Master Designation with Pastel artists, Canada. This year she was awarded the IAPS/MC. Gail’s subjects include figures, still life, and everyday scenes of urban and rural life.
When you look at Gail’s work, you can’t help but be inspired by the vibrant colours and movement. She breathes incredible life into her perceptions of the world around her.
