I was introduced to painting around 2007 when I went to a beginner painting in acrylics art weekend. But due to being very busy as a mother, of 3 boys, chartered accountant and working partner on a dairy farm I didn’t actually manage to do any more than one painting a year. In September 2014 I attended a pet portraits workshop tutored by Maxine Thompson and I was hooked on pastels. I find them to be a forgiving medium that I can pick up at any time even with long breaks and have actually managed to do some painting during each year. I became a member of PANZ in 2015. I am a member of the pastel portfolio group and enjoy the excitement of looking at other member’s art and the positive feedback given. I am a member of the Southern Pastel Artists and when time permits go to the various group activities. I enjoy painting animals (predominately rural) and landscapes.
