I was introduced to painting about 10 years ago when I went to a beginner painting in acrylics art weekend. But due to being very busy as a mother, chartered accountant and working partner on a dairy farm I didn’t actually manage to do any more than one painting a year. In September 2014 I attended a pet portraits workshop tutored by Maxine Thompson and I was hooked on pastels. I find them to be a forgiving medium that I can pick up at any time even with long breaks and have actually managed to do some painting over the past two years. I joined the pastel portfolio last year and enjoy the excitement of looking at other member’s art and the positive feedback given. I am a member of the Southern Pastel Artists and when time permits I join the art group at Lyn Henry’s in Invercargill. I enjoy painting animals and landscapes.
