I didn’t actually start painting until I was in my mid 40’s and had moved to New Plymouth.
I enrolled in an online course through the Learning Connection in Wellington and through that I was introduced to pastels,
not long after I joined in with a local group of pastelists, we meet up every Friday from 10am- 2pm.
I love pastels, I love the vibrancy of colour, I even love how messy you can get with this medium.
I was fortunate to go to the Greek Islands on an art tour, with Maxine Thompson, not once but twice.
I also won a scholarship through the Pastel Artists of New Zealand (PANZ) in 2018 which took me to Tasmania for a 5-day
workshop with Leoni Duff.
I have also attended many workshops through PANZ over the years, they all have been invaluable.
