Julie Nicol
President of PANZ
I live on a 2 acre lifestyle block at the start of a little peninsula called Kina, approx 5km from Mapua, Tasman.
It is such a privilege to live here with a view of the mountains and the water snaking into the estuary, I am still pinching myself after 22 years.
I have worked as a registered nurse, mainly exclusively within the field of paediatrics. The last 22 years have been in Nelson Hospital.
My work has taken me to some interesting places like Saudi Arabia, and have dabbled in some private home nursing to the upper class in England.
Picasso's hanging on the wall no less!
I have always loved art in some form, and have thought I would take it up seriously when I settled in Tasman,
sadly the lifestyle block kiboshed all thoughts of that until about 4 years ago, when I put my big girl pants on and joined the PANZ group in Mapua,
I have not looked back. I didn't know what my style would be, I thought I would be flamboyant all over the paper in bold colours. Hmmm... that hasn't happened...yet.
I still don't know where I sit. I use solely sticks sometimes or just pencils, still a work in progress and loving it.
