New Awards System
There are 3 levels to the points based award system.
Artist Member (APANZ)
| 10 points | in total to be attained by accumulation from the following: |
| 3 points | given once only for entering and being selected into a PANZ National Exhibition |
| 5 points | for first place in a PANZ National Exhibition |
| 3 points | for highly commended in a PANZ National Exhibition |
| 2 points | for a merit prize in a PANZ National Exhibiton |
| 2 points | for a recognised international award gained for a pastel painting |
| 1 point | for a major award gained for a pastel painting in a national exhibition that calls for entries nationwide |
| 1 point | for publication of work in a reputable national or international Art magazine |
Distinguished Member (DPANZ)
| 25 points | (including the 10 needed to become an Artist Member) ie: 15 more points required: |
| 5 points | for first place in a PANZ National Exhibition |
| 3 points | for highly commended in a PANZ National Exhibition |
| 2 points | for a merit prize in PANZ National Exhibition |
| 2 points | for a recognised international award gained for a pastel painting |
| 1 point | for a major award gained for a pastel painting in a national exhibition that calls for entries nationwide |
| 1 point |
for publication of work in a reputable national or international Art magazine |
Master Pastelist (MPANZ)
Top award. This award will be bestowed after positive consideration by a panel of suitably experienced or qualified people and/or other Master Pastelists appointed by the Management Committee.
Criteria, in addition to painting, will be considered by the panel, including matters such as:
- Evidence of tutoring or providing other similar services to PANZ members
- Regular attendance at PANZ Conventions
- Promotion of PANZ through the media
- The applicant's history of awards and exhibitions for pastel paintings
